Photoblog: Portrait: My little Adorable ♥

4 months and counting.. my beautiful baby is nearly growing to talk, walk, run and explore. Time really flies like a swoosh, and we can all see that come into being in every facets of our precious little baby Amika Shekinah. All babyish things are coming to her, she giggles, laugh, grasp on stuff that she always thinks are food, stares at bright colored objects, speaks in her baby language and endlessly moves her chubby feet. We can't wait to see her advance and learn new things as she grows. We love you so much baby! Keep the smile in your face and make people happy.. You are a blessing that inspires us. You are a beautiful bundle in our lives as beautiful as your name, Amika Shekinah (Amika means a loving friend, Shekinah means the dancing light and glory of God).

HAPPY 4 MONTHS BABY! from your Kuya Kodi, Momi, and Papa ♥

PhotoBlog: Vintage Keepsakes - My Radio Cassette Player

Goldstar with a much more modern buddy

The good old times when we all had radio cassette player ◄ ► just to keep up with the Joneses. It was like the Ipod Shuffle - a trend.. It was big and really heavy! And, yes I still have it, rusty and still heavy.. lol.. and her name is Goldstar - she was my second baby, my first baby teeny weeny boom-box was a black and yellow Sony walk-man ♪♪ - which was like a super cool gadget that time, and I regretfully say that I'd lost her :(
So, Goldstar still stays in the drawer for (counting the years... will only give the estimate, so as not to reveal my true age..lol..) 15 long years! still in it's shape, but of course, sad to say she's no longer on her working condition. ☺
Now, let me introduce Goldstar to you guys :) A simple yet classy - vintage item in the making :)

Footloose and Fancy-free Weekend

Always in full swing, Kodi never runs out of energy. He loves to move, talk and explore, and he just loves making us say yes in spending a day away from home. Because he gets to see new things, play with different toys and read his favorite books. That is why during weekend, we enjoy our time together in malls near our place. It definitely makes us happy to see him run and play beyond the four corners of our home.

Hello JUNE...

Hello JUNE... special days are coming and the countdown starts now!

Day 1.. When all the days seem less different because of the restless routines I splurged on endlessly. June 1st - walking, running, sitting, waiting, eating, reading and a whole lot of exercise. But, what makes it different was being with someone I get along with for the past 8 years. No, of course this is not the first time we had this moment together, it's just that we haven't got the chance to do this again since the day I gave birth to our second baby. My husband and I love being "Us" - doing the things we both enjoy together like staying at Powerbooks or National Bookstore for an hour or two, reading stuff that feeds our interests. Interests like - he actually reads pugadbaboy (yes, he digs this! haha) and books like magic the gathering, etc., something that is really worth his time, he always amazes me with his fascination on those kinds of good read, he's being him - unique. And as for me, he never fails to find me at the art and architecture section or the place where I can't take my eyes off - the food section! lol. After an hour of having our hearts set into reading, I never thought that an eccentric and sumptuous meal is waiting.
The Lunch Date of Day 1
One sweet thing that my Husband always makes me do the double take.. is when he surprises me with a date (It could be an early morning surprise, a breakfast with a smile.. a lunch with a big meal or a romantic dinner with a sweet hug, not to forget a delivery for a midnight snack). And for yesterday's lunch, it is unexpected, as always, if it's a date... lol.. It was our second time to dine in that resto (I did post this in facebook, but got the wrong name of the restaurant unintentionally.. simply because I got the surprise hangover.. hehe). Well, I stand corrected, the name of the restaurant is Sultan Mediterranean Grill- their menu specializes in Indian foods such as keema, kebab, curry and other delightful spiced dishes. Sultan Mediterranean Grill can be spotted in Valero Plaza, Salcedo Village, Makati, a 10-15 minute walk from PBcom Ayala. The place is great, the food is amazing, and this is where we love having an iced tea bottomless for 2-3 rounds.. lol. For lunch, it's jam-packed there! The people just drop like flies and I believe a bigger place is recommended. Our lunch - a blast! and it made me appreciate our marriage, friendship, and love immeasurably.
An Afternoon Bonding of Day 1
When being out makes me go crazy thinking of my kids at home happens all the time. I always feel like I'm in a hurry to go home, but in my mind I still want to have an alone time. After the "Us" moment, I know that I just had to go home and check on my two babies. When I finally arrived in our hive of activities, I didn't even had the time to change my clothes, I miss Kodi and Amika so much that I just need to be with them right away. An hour of pampering for Amika and letting her sit on my lap is happiness, then another hour of hustle and bustle playtime with Kodi. My afternoon bondings with my kids are not odds and ends that I'll keep in my drawer. Every minute, every hour is priceless, sometimes it could be tiring, mad and frustrating, but these are all part of being a family.
And this is worth its weight in gold :) Priceless :) A cut above the rest :)

Please forgive me for the blurred photos, I did not bring my cam with me, so I have to use my mobile phone instead to take a sneak shot of these dishes:)
Enjoy

Toothache Attack

Can I just get my tooth that hurts and give it to my tooth-fairy? (If I really do have one) and will forever be happy  :) Ooooh, how blissful is that!

What causes my tooth ache is a tooth crack and its pain gets severe whenever I aggravate on cold and hot liquids. This unbearable pain had me sleepless nights, unplanned diet, and cold beverage deprivation. And it's been like this for three days already! So, this time I will definitely have to see my dentist. Ok, it's final then, see you soon Doc!

Hmmm...One more thing. If I'm going to have an apple a day, will it keep the tootache away? Lol (I know, I know I suck on jokes.. and if my husband is reading this, he would definitely say "wag kang mais" hehe).

A Quick Snappy Blog

Yes, this is such a short notice. I am not gonna blog more than twenty sentences. You can actually count it with me, lol :) Please bear with me, I just wanna say something right now.

The weather seriously makes me restrain from my savory appetite... :( Even chocolates, it is so hard for me to appreciate its sultry sweetness. Rather, I find delight in consuming a gallon of water a day! But, I don't wanna drink like a fish and bloat!
Maybe, I need something else more than a supplement, more like an aroma everytime I eat. Something that will make me indulge and crave for more!

This is so frustrating, I just had a baby and I trimmed down big time! I need to gain weight. Please!

There you go, I didn't count my sentences. But if I went beyond twenty, feel free to inform me :) CiAO

My Little Van Gogh

"Get it down to the fine art my child"
The painter having a quick break
He loves to explore many things including extreme activities that are beyond his limit, and he will definitely hell-bent on it.
Well, here it is, when I thought of painting something abstract, I know that it is going to be something I need to put on our bedroom. And as I started preparing my stuff, my little boy went giggling and said "mama, ako rin paint". He was so cute, and I just can't say no to him! haha. So, I told him to choose the brush he likes and oil paint colors he would love to use. The canvass is as much as an eager beaver waiting to be splashed with colors!
I started stroking some fine lines while kodi was busy using his big chinese brush on one side of the canvas..lol.. and every paint he makes he use a different color. and again I have to LOL.. :)   and when I asked "do you need help anak?", he said "no mama, ok lng ako"... How pretty is that?! He is paddling his own canoe already. And after two hours of painting, half done. I decided to call it a day.
The painter in action:)

The next day, I positioned the canvass to its place and put all the stuff needed, and because it was very early in the morning, kodi is already awake. I thought that we should make the hay while the sun is shining. After an hour of blood, sweat and tears, our first collaboration is ready to be auctioned..lol. really, it would look amazing if its fix on a wall :)
His own side of the canvass

I'm proud of my Little Van Gogh, he might not be the ever friendly kid around, but he sure has the curiosity, determination and passion to explore all avenues.

Where is the painting now?... Well, it is now placed as a lovely accent in Tito Cocoy and Tito Jeru's room. A cool hue to match the room. :)

Soar High

What makes this set interesting for me is the simultaneous multiple shots. I am so happy with every frames because I get to see many shots and can even choose a lot of great photos from the set. But of course, I will have to limit posting, I just selected  the best ones. So, here they are, enjoy:)

Let your freedom take you towards your dream
Let it give you fervent hope and aspiration

Let it teach you to be fearless and determined

Let it open doors of new beginnings, acceptance and reconciliation

Let your freedom lift you and soar high.

Lovely Afternoon Click

If I can take a picture of  him all day I would, but with my hyperactive son - Kodi, that is so impossible! haha.. And he never liked being photographed, he rather click the button and shoot whatever random objects he see. This set was really unexpected, I never thought that Kodi would ask me to take his picture. He sat down and was very excited to put on his classic smile! Then, there it is, multiple shots of him smiling, giggling, making faces and poses with his tiny toy car. He just made me so happy :) These photos are flicker perfect. Thank you so much son for making it great!  ♥ You're my star

TICKLED PINK

It's a little crazy for me to indulge on a shade that reflects universal love. I never liked "pink" before! I thought it was something too girly for me.. I feel like its mood sets me back to my junior senior prom when all the girls wear pink with embroidered lace dress. I find it too much of a lady-like impression. Somehow one's gestures has to complement with its femininity  and this was like a sticker stuck in my forehead! So, from then on I hated pink. I introduced myself into a shade that is more likely to match my sunny yet reserved manner. However, lately I was slowly baring the sweetness and softer side of its shade. Pink is blushing my eyes with cotton candies, striped wallpapers, bubble gums, floral design bags, chibi sketch planners and my baby in pink onesies.

Pink neutralizes clutter in what I think and see. It engages me into a caring and tenderness being. The feeling of calmness and relaxation is seemly natural and I'm always *tickled pink whenever I see its sundry shades.

It is amazing to know how every shades and hues of colors stimulate what we perceived. And it does not only reflect in what we feel but also on how we think. Thus, colors are very significant in design, because they have distinctive shades that convey different meaning, effect and impression.

Note:
"Tickled pink" means happy and content
"In the pink" means being healthy

El Día de la Madre! Te Amo

Mama Mamita

Her eyes are jewel that always sparkle.. a bubbly persona, never will you know that she is in pain. She is a strong woman, a loving mother and a sincere friend. She raised five kids of whom she has bestowed her personalities in each one of them. And now that they are big enough to understand what life is, she has become more than their pillar and light. She is a joy to everyone. She is our mother, our "Mama", Kodi and Amika's "Mamita".

You continually love us unconditionally, understands us all the time, patiently waits for us past midnight, serves us with best breakfast, lunch, and dinner, taught us to stay kind, generous and humble. Yours is a cherished moment everyday.. We love you mama.. Happy Mother's Day!

My Summer Hues

It was not oozing hot a month ago.. I liked it better.. March is a summer breeze.. windy, and not so hot. It was nice to stay all day in our bedroom and letting the curtains up to make the breeze get through all over the room.  I just lay my head comfortably over my pillow or with Kodi's favorite cars pillow (just to tease him.. hehehe!). Beside me is my cuddly baby Amika, who loves to sleep during a carefree afternoon. I loved the summer in march.. fresh and airy..

"My summer hues" photo by Odessa Matias

April, in one way is great because baby Amika just turned 2 months.. A delight to see her charming smile everyday cools my April baking summer. At the beginning of this month is like an oven, feels like I'm 24/7 stored in a very high temperature! lol.. Drives me crazy and lazy.. hehe.. and yes a steaming headache all the time. :( And by the end of this month, even if I don't go out, I think I can get tan! haha

March is breezy blue, April is fiery red... and I can't wait to get my summer hue in May! Kudos

Milk Run

I can't go farther than three blocks away without someone to accompany me. It's been 4 months, and I really wanted to go on a short trip alone or with my husband. Somewhere breezy, tranquil and close to nature. Having a day or two away from the constant routine of everyday hustling activities and techno widgets. Though, i know it isn't easy as wee buns to book a schedule, but I'll definitely wait for my jiffy milk run.
